eports_as_learning

Eportfolio-centered learning thrives in environments where students are given a choice, where inquiry-based or problem-based learning is the pedagogical foundation, and where students are asked to set goals, reflect upon their learning, and share their learning with others. This environment can be fostered from K-12 and beyond.

When learners, whether they are young or adult, have a choice in their learning and can develop mastery in an area of interest, engagement and motivation or “flow” drive learning. What will it take to move to a learning environment/pedagogy which both challenges and motivates the learner to grow and achieve in a community of learners?

Key Questions:

1. How can eportfolios transform the learning landscape from K-12 and beyond?
2. What would have to shift in education in order for eportfolio based learning to take hold?
3. How could eportfolio based learning transform the nature of education?
4. How do we currently balance choice-centered learning with accountability?
5. How can we ensure proper credentialling of informal learning?
5. What will eportfolios look like in the future?
